VLC 3.0.7 is Released and Fixes many Security issues


The VideoLAN organization is proudly announced the new release of VLC 3.0.7 on 07 June, 2019.

VLC 3.0.7 is the second version of the “Vetinari” branch of VLC media player

VLC 3.0.7 is the 7th update of VLC 3.x (Vetinari) series.

Notable changes between 3.0.6 and 3.0.7 are below:

Improvements for HDR support on Windows, including for HLG streams

Improvements on the Blu-ray support, notably for menus

Fixes for some 10bit and 12bit rendering on Windows 10

VLC 3.0 playing 8K 48fps 360 video on Android Galaxy S8

Fixes for UPnP discovery on MacBooks with a TouchBar

Fixed the sftp module build issue with libssh >= 1.8.1

Fixed the DirectSound drain

Improved MP4 support

Fixed a crash on iOS

Fixed the HLG display issue with Direct3D11

Improved the Chromecast support with new ChromeCast apps

The following applications script is updated Youtube, Dailymotion, Vimeo and Soundcloud.

Numerous security issues: 1 high security issues, 21 medium and 20 low security issues were fixed, ranging from integer overflow to buffer overflows, with out-of-read violations and stack overflows.

Fixed multiple buffer overflows in the ps demuxer, svcdsub decoder, ogg muxer, demuxer, libavformat demuxer, MKV demuxer, MP4 demuxer, textst decoder, webvtt decoder, ASF demux, UPNP SD and faad decoder.
